The financial planning process varies according to your current situation, needs and objectives. Generally the process will include the following steps (please note this is only a guide):
Step 1: Initial meeting – no cost to you. This is a ‘meet and greet’ to determine whether we want to work together. We discuss your goals and the strategies that may help you reach these goals. We also agree on the scope of advice, which involves identifying which areas you would like to receive advice on.
Step 2: We gather relevant personal information to ensure the advice we provide is appropriate to your situation, goals and objectives.
Step 3: Outline of strategy – we provide a Statement of Advice (SOA). This is a formal document detailing your current situation, our recommendation(s), benefits, advantages, disadvantages, fees and costs associated with the advice. At this stage you can decide if you would like to proceed.
Step 4: Implementation of advice.
Step 5: Ongoing service and review – the frequency of review (e.g. quarterly, bi-annually) is agreed in the initial stages of the process.
